How do I know if my child has dyslexia?

Some children just aren’t interested in letters and sounds.  They don’t want to learn the alphabet, they have no interest in recognising the signs around town or playing with letter shapes.  They’ll happily be read a story book, but when it comes to recognising and picking out words, they just don’t want to know.  How do we know when a lack of interest in learning to read, indicates a lack in ability in learning to read?  How do we know when to seek out support?  My blog post here for Essential Parent lays out the research led evidence on how to spot the signs for a reading disability.
